In fact, the face thickness is 2.4mm in the thinner areas and 3.5mm in the thicker areas. Like beams on a bridge, the angled bars support the entire face yet save weight that is moved to the perimeter (most irons have a face thickness of 3-4mm throughout most of the face). A generous offset helps raise trajectory and makes these irons easy to hit and a good fit for most middle to higher handicap players.
