Callaway Fusion 3-PW Iron Set w/Steel Shaft The Big Bertha Fusion Irons are the most untraditional traditional-looking irons you will ever play. Fusion s Three-Piece Technology utilizes multiple materials in clubhead construction to move mass where it does the most good. Three-Piece Technology consists of lightweight titanium that is used in Fusion Irons to make the rest of the club heavier. The lightweight titanium face is 35% lighter than a comparable steel face, allowing more mass to be moved to the club perimeter for faster ball speed, greater feel, a larger sweet spot, forgiveness and increased effective hitting area. To form the heavy cradle, Callaway Golf metallurgists created an entirely new metal alloy called Tunite, which is a base of tungsten and nickel. A small amount of silicon softens the mixture and ferro-chromium is added for a polished look. The Tunite cradle allows 77% of the mass to be positioned around the extreme perimeter of the iron for ultra-high MOI (Moment of Inertia) and a low, deep CG (center of gravity). With no twisting or turning, balls fly straighter off the club. The TPU SenSert is a thermoplastic urethane layer that sits snugly behind the clubface. It is turned to the titanium clubface to reduce vibration at impact, improve feel and deliver crisp, responsive acoustics.
