If you have looked around our site you will have no doubt seen the short (2 min or so) Video Golf Lessons that we offer. They are actually part of the PurePoint Golf DVD Catalog, they kindly allowed us to use them for your benefit.
Now, a 2 min lesson will only get you this far, and the small video screen that our site can offer is not able to show all the necessary detail. This is unfortunately due to technical limitations that are outside our control (i.e. bandwidth issues).
So, we wanted to see if the Golf DVDs are as good as the short snippets and took a look at the PurePoint Golf´s Full Swing DVD, one of four DVDs is the whole set.
What's on it?
The top questions that come to mind first: who is the instructor? Is he credible? Can he teach and communicate his knowledge?
Well, the instructor is Bobby Eldridge (that's him on the right), the Head Professional at PurePoint Golf. This guy has given over 70,000 individual lessons. Wow, that's a LOT of lessons. To stay in business that long he must be good at what he does.
When listening to him on the DVD it becomes clear, he is a well versed teacher and can explain difficult concepts in an easy to understand manner. He is also able to show in practice what he is talking about. [... I can't get over that, 70000 lessons! ...]
The topics he covers on this one DVD are:
Putting it to the test...
The PurePoint Golf´s Full Swing DVD is certainly well presented (see small screen shot on the left). It explains even small issues - which may have a huge impact - in great detail.
The instructions are easy to follow, and there are a lot of them. In fact, the only problem I had was to stay focused and not get carried away by the load of information. My advice is: focus on one particular aspect of your swing first, watch that part a few times and put it to practice - just remember to practice outside. I smashed a lamp that was hanging too closely (...stupid lamp, who put it there?), much to the dismay of my wife.
I now take one step at a time, and I clearly see my swing improve. I'm now going to buy the rest of the set. Actually I should have done so right away, the whole 4 DVD PurePoint Bundle Offer is only $175, I would have saved $68. Well, I wanted to be sure it's the quality they advertise, so I guess this is the pay-off. Hindsight is always 20/20...
The verdict
I like it, I think it's a great product, worth every penny. On first sight one may think the $72 price tag is hefty, but considering the amount of in-depth info presented it's actually a bargain (and it comes with a few freebies, too!). The authors are so confident of the quality of their DVD that they offer a 90 days risk-free money back guarantee on the PurePoint Golf´s Full Swing DVD, this must clearly count for something.
If you want to save some money (which I should have done) you can go for the full 4 DVD PurePoint Bundle Offer, it will certainly keep you busy for a while.
